TikTok to MP3: How to Save the Audio from a TikTok Video

Sometimes the sound is the whole point. A voiceover you recorded for a TikTok, an original beat you made, a short interview you filmed with someone's permission. TikTok doesn't give you a way to export just the audio, but converting TikTok to MP3 in a browser takes about as long as copying a link. This guide shows how to do it on a phone or computer, what kind of file to expect, and where the line sits with music you didn't make.
When saving TikTok audio makes sense
- Your own voiceovers, to reuse in a podcast, a YouTube video or a presentation.
- Original sounds you created, like a beat, a jingle or a spoken hook, so you have a copy outside the app.
- Interviews or talks you filmed, with the speaker's permission, for transcription.
- Sounds released under Creative Commons or in the public domain, used the way the licence allows.
Music on TikTok: read this before you download
Many TikTok sounds are commercial songs. TikTok licenses them so people can use them inside the app. That licence doesn't travel with the file. Once you save a song as an MP3, it is just a copy of someone else's recording, and putting it in your own video on another platform, a client's ad or a playlist you share can get the video muted, taken down or worse.
If you love a track you heard on TikTok, look the song up in a music service and listen there. If you want it in a new video, pick it from the licensed sound library of the app you are posting to. Save MP3s for audio you own or are cleared to use.
How to convert TikTok to MP3 step by step
- In the TikTok app, open the video with the sound you want, tap the Share arrow and choose Copy link. On a computer, copy the address bar while the video is open.
- Open the Online Toolsz downloader and paste the link.
- Press Get Video Info. Check the card: thumbnail, caption, creator name, duration and the TikTok badge.
- Press Download audio. For TikTok, the label shows MP3.
- Let the browser save the file, then find it in Downloads (Android and computer) or in the Files app (iPhone).
Use a video link, not a sound page
TikTok has pages for each sound, with addresses containing /music/. Those pages are lists of videos, not a single file, so the downloader can't work from them. Instead:
- Open the sound page and tap the original video, usually marked as the first post or labelled with the creator's original sound.
- Copy that video's link and paste it into the tool.
- If you are saving your own sound, use the video you first posted it with. Later videos by other people may have extra noise, talking or effects layered on top.
What the MP3 file will sound like
The audio button gives you the soundtrack exactly as it plays in the posted video. That has a few consequences:
- Everything is mixed together. If you talked over a song, the MP3 has both. The tool can't separate voice from music.
- Quality matches the post. TikTok compresses audio on upload, so the MP3 won't beat your original recording. If you still have the raw voice memo or project file, that is the better copy.
- Length matches the video. Trim silence or extra bits afterwards in any audio editor.
If you want the picture as well, the same card offers MP4 buttons; our guide on downloading TikTok videos explains the difference.
Saving and playing the MP3 on each device
iPhone
Safari asks to confirm the download, then puts the MP3 in the Files app under Downloads. Audio can't be saved to Photos, which only holds pictures and videos. Play it straight from Files, or open it with the Share button in an app that imports audio, such as a podcast editor or a voice-notes app.
Android
The MP3 goes to the Downloads folder. Most music players scan that folder automatically; if yours doesn't, move the file into the Music folder with your file manager.
Windows and Mac
Look in your browser's download folder. MP3 opens in any media player and drops straight into common video and audio editors.
Common problems and fixes
- No card appears: make sure you pasted a video link, not a profile or /music/ sound page.
- The account is private or the video friends-only: the tool only reads public videos, so the audio isn't reachable.
- The download fails: refresh, paste the link again and retry after a minute.
- The MP3 is silent or very quiet: check the video itself. Some TikToks have their sound muted after a copyright claim, and the file reflects that.

Limitations
One video per link. No full profiles, private videos, TikTok LIVE or expired Stories. Douyin is not supported at the moment. The tool can't split vocals from music or improve on the audio TikTok serves. Your link is processed by our server and download service, and no TikTok login is ever requested.
Staying on the right side of copyright
Save audio you made, audio you have permission to use, or sounds under Creative Commons or in the public domain. Respect TikTok's terms and the rights of songwriters and performers, don't re-upload other people's sounds as your own, and credit creators when you use their work. This is general guidance, not legal advice. For other platforms, see the online video downloader guide.
FAQ
Is TikTok audio saved as MP3 or M4A?
TikTok audio from the tool comes as MP3. The button label confirms the format before you click.
Can I download a TikTok sound from its sound page?
No. Open a video that uses the sound, ideally the original post, and paste that video's link.
Can I use a song I downloaded from TikTok in my YouTube video?
Not unless you have rights to that song. TikTok's music licence covers use inside TikTok, not your MP3 copy.
Why can't I find the MP3 in Photos on my iPhone?
Photos doesn't store audio. Look in the Files app under Downloads.
Can I remove the background music and keep my voice?
Not with this tool. It saves the mixed soundtrack as posted. Use your original recording if you need the voice alone.
