A quick PDF editor for small, practical changes

Most PDF fixes are small: type a date on a form that isn't fillable, mark a paragraph for a colleague, turn a sideways scan, delete a blank page, or slip in a page you forgot. This tool lets you edit PDF online for free in a full-screen editor in your browser and save the result as a new file. No account, no install.

Be clear about what kind of editor this is: it adds new content on top of your pages. It does not rewrite text that is already in the PDF.

How to edit a PDF online

  1. Upload your PDF. The editor opens full screen with page thumbnails in the sidebar.
  2. Move between pages with the arrows next to the page counter, or click a thumbnail.
  3. Click Text to add a text box to the current page, then click inside it and type. Click Shape to add a rectangle outline. Select an item and use its small X to remove it.
  4. Use the buttons on each thumbnail to rotate a page 90° clockwise or delete it.
  5. To insert pages from another PDF, click the gap between two thumbnails or the dashed button at the end of the list, then choose the file. All of its pages are added at that spot.
  6. Open Info if you want to set the document title and author, then click save. You get a new file named edited_ followed by the original name.

Everyday jobs it handles well

  • Non-fillable forms. A landlord, school, or club sends a flat PDF form. Add text boxes for your name, address, and date instead of printing, writing, and scanning.
  • Review notes. Draw a box around the clause you want someone to read and add a short note like "See section 4.2".
  • Assembling a packet. Insert a separately scanned signature page or an exhibit into the right spot of a longer document.
  • Cleaning up scans. Rotate pages the scanner fed in sideways and delete the blank backs of single-sided sheets.
  • Labeling. Stamp "Paid 10/14", "Copy", or an invoice number on top of a received document before filing it.

Tips before you save

  • Stick to basic characters. Added text uses a standard built-in font that covers English and common Western European accents (é, ñ, ü). Emoji, Asian scripts, and some other characters may not save.
  • Covering is not redacting. Even in editors that offer filled boxes, text hidden under a box can often still be selected and copied. If something must never be seen, remove it from the source document.
  • Check page sizes after inserting. Pages from another PDF keep their own size, so a Letter page inserted into an A4 document will look slightly different.
  • Keep your original. The editor always saves a new file, but it's still worth keeping the untouched version until you have checked the result.
  • Interactive form fields are not detected or filled. Text is placed on top of the page, so type where the blank line is.

Privacy

The editor runs completely in your browser. Pages are previewed with pdf.js and the new file is written with pdf-lib on your device. Your PDF is not uploaded to our server, which matters when you are filling in forms with your address, ID numbers, or account details.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit the existing text in my PDF?

No. You can add new text on top, but the original words stay as they are. To fix a typo inside the original text, change the source document (Word, Google Docs, and so on) and export the PDF again.

How do I type on a PDF that isn't fillable?

Open it here, go to the right page, click Text, and type your entry into the new text box. Repeat for each line you need to fill in, then save.

Can I sign a PDF with this editor?

You can type your name, but there is no drawn signature or certificate-based digital signature. If the recipient needs a handwritten or verified signature, use a dedicated e-signature service or sign a printed copy.

Does the editor add a watermark?

No. The saved file contains your pages and whatever you added, nothing else.

Can I add pages from another PDF?

Yes. Click the gap between thumbnails where the new pages should go, or the dashed button at the end, and choose the second PDF. All of its pages are inserted at that position.

Why did some characters in my text not save?

The built-in font only covers basic Latin characters and common Western European accents. Replace special symbols, emoji, or non-Latin text with plain characters and save again.
