Why is my QR code not scanning? Common fixes before you print again

A QR code can fail even when the data inside it is correct. Most scan problems come from the printed design, not the link.
Check size and distance
If people scan from farther away, the QR code needs to be larger. A code that works on a laptop screen may be too small on a poster, menu, or product label.
Check contrast
Use a dark foreground on a light background first. Low-contrast brand colors, gradients, and textured backgrounds make the camera work harder.
Protect the quiet zone
The blank margin around the QR code helps scanners find the pattern. Do not place text, borders, logos, or artwork too close to the code.
Be careful with logos
A logo can cover important parts of the pattern. If you use one, keep it small and use higher error correction. Always test the printed version.
Regenerate and test
Create a clean version with the QR Code Generator, then test it on paper before sending a large print order.
