How to reduce an image PDF file size before uploading it

Image-based PDFs can get large quickly because every page is a photo. If an upload form rejects the file, fix the source images first and compress the final PDF after export.
Start with fewer pages
Remove duplicate photos, blank pages, and failed shots. A smaller image set usually gives a better result than trying to compress a messy PDF later.
Use readable images, not oversized images
Images need to be clear enough to read. They do not always need to be full camera resolution, especially for forms, receipts, and worksheets that will be reviewed on screen.
Create the PDF after cleanup
Use Image to PDF after the images are in the right order. Download the PDF and check readability before doing anything else.
Compress the finished PDF
If the file is still too large, use Compress PDF on the final document. Compressing after export lets you test the exact file you plan to upload.
Keep a copy of the original
Save the original images until the upload is accepted. If the compressed PDF becomes hard to read, you can rebuild it with better source files.
