Start with scan distance
Small QR codes work for business cards and labels. Posters and signs need larger codes because users scan from farther away.
Keep contrast simple
Dark foreground on a light background remains the safest default. Low-contrast gradients and busy backgrounds reduce scan reliability.
Use logos carefully
A centered logo can work when error correction is high and the logo does not cover too much of the code pattern.
